Jamie A Gilchrist, is a Retired Detective, with broad and wide-ranging experience and expertise in Government Affairs and Operations. His career has included Criminal Investigation, Grant development and writing, Labor Contract development and negotiation, Working Dog Training and Deployment, as well as, Local, State, Military and Federal Task Force assignments in pursuit of international Narco-Terrorist Organizations. His primary scope was North America and South America, however, interactions with Interpol and other international policing agencies were a regular investigatory tool he utilized. Jamie has participated in thousands of investigative matters ranging from local drug abuse, up to and including, complicated, multi-agency, global RICO, Tax Evasion, Human Trafficking, Child Pornography, Title 111, as well as Top Secret matters with National Security implications, in the pursuit of Justice.
Jamie’s work has broadened his command and understanding of both the Criminal Justice system as well as its linkage to ordinary, day to day, governmental operations at all levels in the United States, and left him with a clearer understanding of how many, international governments operate as well.
Jamie has Conducted Investigations on behalf of, Local Police Departments, County Sheriff’s Offices, County Prosecutors Offices, State Patrols, State Police Agencies, State Attorney Generals, The U.S Department of Treasury, The U.S.Customs Service, The U.S. Postal Service, The Federal Bureau of Investigation, The Department of Justice, The Department of the Inspector General, The Naval Investigative Service, The Ohio National Guard, and was Permanently assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration, Cleveland Resident Office, as the leader of their Parcel Interdiction Team or “PIT” Team, International Interdiction Team, known as, “Operation Jetway”. Additional Collateral Duties he held was that of “Cross Designation” as a U.S. Customs Agent to allow him to act directly, on international criminal matters without the aid of a Customs Agent.
Jamie has testified hundreds of times in Local, State, and Federal Courts, including County and Federal Grand Juries, resulting in a myriad of convictions, “Asset Forfeiture” and “Seizures”, and the assistance to other Investigative personal and agencies in clearing their investigations with a successful conviction. Jamie has prepared numerous affidavits and search warrants in all levels of criminal courts and has participated in several hundred search warrant executions. Jamie has worked with County Prosecutors and U.S Attorneys Offices in the plea negotiation process and trial preparations, Jury selection, Trial, Evidence phase, Jury deliberations and conviction and sentencing phases.
Jamie has been on 3 separate “Raid Teams”: “Sheriff Narcotics”, “T.A.G. Major Crimes Unit”, and “U.S. Department of Justice, D.E.A. Entry Team”, he has participated in hundreds of “Dynamic Entries” on target homes, vehicles, buildings and institutions. Jamie has been in several, “extreme altercations” during the execution of these raids and has directly experienced life and death moments in the course of these raids on numerous occasions. Jamie was trained in numerous state and Federal computer systems and databases and has received and maintained clearances to utilize many such systems in the course of his career. N.C.I.C., L.E.A.D.S., S.E.N.T.R.Y., N.I.B.E.R.S., C.R.I.S., N.A.D.D.I.S., E.P.I.C., to name the major data tools.
Through these experiences, Jamie has gleaned a clear picture of what the government can and cannot do effectively on behalf of its citizens, as well as how to most effectively have governments, specifically, those persons employed in government agencies, to assist, achieve, and accomplish, on behalf of its people. Jamie has developed a keen understanding of the human condition, and the need to end human suffering, eradicate greed, build a holistic human consensus that can lead us to a better way of coexisting. Jamie is a lightning quick, holographic thinker and applies this skill wherever it is beneficial. Jamie and his partner reside near Cleveland Ohio and are nature and outdoor enthusiasts, as well as dog and cat rescuers.
